The heel cup and ankle coller are too tight and high which results in holding the foot in the wrong places. The toe box is more pointed, really restricting the natural way my foot wants to sit in the shoe. Most noticeably, the arch support I had grown accustomed to in the previous Wave Riders is missing. This is the biggest draw back as when I ran in them I kept thinking how uncomfortable this shoe was, rather than focusing on my run. Trying them on in the store didn't bring to light the severity of all these changes so hopefully someone can benefit from this review. I have since went out and purchased the Wave Precision. Hopefully Mizuno gets the Wave Rider 15 right. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 14 Running Shoe (Apparel) This was my 4th pair of Wave Rider. The shoe felt great at first, but on my 5th or 6th run, the ankle collar began rubbing painfully against my ankle ball. I was soon forced to retire them. I eventually bought a pair of thick sole inserts to use them occasionally. My local store told me others had been experiencing this problem with the 14. That was disapointing since the Wave Rider 10-13, were probably the best shoes I've ever had. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 14 Running Shoe (Apparel) These shoes are awful. My usual shoe, Mizuno Wave Rider 13, was unavailable and so I bought the 14 out of desperation as I was 60 days away from my marathon and needed a second pair. I read several poor reviews about the Mizuno wave rider 14 model, they were true in my opinion, these shoes are terrible! Very stiff, awkward fit about the ankle, bad all around. |
